Elevation Outdoors
Another central tenet of our family foundation is connecting with adolescents and youth to help provide opportunities for growth, change, and improving their outcomes. As a family, and as you’ve probably noticed, we believe in nature, recreation, and activity as excellent vehicles for fostering such change and improvement. It was no surprise, then, that we connected with another grassroots charity that embraces these principles in their work: Elevation Outdoors.
Elevation’s mission is to enhance the lives of vulnerable youth who face barriers by encouraging participation in specially designed outdoor sports programs. Their goal is to help youth develop a lasting passion for these sports while drawing parallels to life, gaining valuable experiences, and learning essential life skills along the way.
Many of their incredible and unique programs are offered free of charge to eligible youth, as Elevation Outdoors believes that no young person should be denied the opportunity to discover an outdoor sport or pursuit that can help keep them motivated, healthy, and happy in life!
Founded in 2007, Elevation is a community-supported program designed to enhance the lives of local youth who face significant socioeconomic challenges. Through guided participation in strategically designed outdoor activities, young people are exposed to physically and mentally challenging experiences while gaining fundamentally important life skills. The program is designed to mentor vulnerable youth, steering them away from harm and towards a life of good health, productivity, and fulfillment.

Once we learned about their work and their sincere dedication to vulnerable youth, something that truly resonated with us, we decided to fully dive in. In doing so, we were invited to drop in and participate in some of their programming.
Below is a video of our experience at “Learn to Shred”, where youth can learn to snowboard and safely enjoy the mountains, while being part of mentored groups led by positive role models.
